The vineyards of the Prosecco region, just an hour’s drive from Venice, spread out as you travel along country roads to the 10 century-old church of San Pietro di Feletto, where you can admire the magnificent fresco of a Sunday-Christ. Enjoy the relaxing chant of a waterfall beside an old mill at Refrontolo. Late in the morning visit my best selected winery near Conegliano and see the cellars, wine press, and fermentation room then rounded off with a glass of the vineyard’s Prosecco.
Then lunch in a real medieval castle partly cut in stone where you can enjoy a traditional menu from the Veneto region.
The afternoon begins with a short visit to the 13th c. Follina Abbey, with its outstanding little cloister. Then, while going towards Valdobbiadene, visit the second winery where an expert will explain you the method of Prosecco making from grape pickling to bottling and learn more how this wonderful, sparkling white wine is actually made.
Please note: the cellars visit is a walking tour. The cellars can be cold so please dress warmly.
